PTE UKVI Entry Requirements
1.Student Route (Higher Education – UK Universities)
Undergraduate Degrees:
- Minimum Overall 51 – 57 (with no skill below 51)
Postgraduate Degrees:
- Minimum Overall 59 – 65 (with no skill below 59)
Competitive Courses (Law, Medicine, Teaching, Journalism, etc.):
- May require 65 – 79
2. Below Degree Level (Foundation / Pre-sessional / Diploma)
- Overall: 43+ (requirements vary by institution)
3. UKVI Work Visas
Skilled Worker Visa (healthcare, skilled roles):
- Usually 43 – 50 overall
Professional Registration (Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Lawyers):
- Higher score required, often 65 – 79
4. UKVI Family / Settlement / Citizenship Visas
Requires PTE Home (UKVI) – a simpler test for everyday communication:
- A1 Level (Beginner) → For spouse/partner visas
- A2 Level (Elementary) → For visa extensions
- B1 Level (Intermediate) → For settlement (ILR) and citizenship
Key Notes
- Test Content: Same as PTE Academic, but must be taken at a UKVI-approved test
centre. - Validity: Results are valid for 2 years.
- Difference: PTE UKVI is approved by the UK Home Office as a SELT (Secure English
